Sydenham Lake Canoe Club offers a skills development program designed to train paddlers in the sport of competitive sprint canoe and kayak. The Summer Competitive Program is a full day sprint canoe/kayak athletic development camp that prepares children and youth to compete at Regional and Provincial Canoe Kayak Ontario (CKO) Regattas.
The program is a combination of training and restful activities in keeping with Canada's Long Term Athletic Development progression. This camp will be divided into 2 groups: U10-U12 and U14-U16. Paddlers are required to commit to a minimum of 4 weeks of consecutive or non-consecutive training per season between July and August 15th.
Please consult with your child before registering them in this program as they must enjoy and be committed to training and competition. There are 2-5 weekend regattas throughout the season. All participants must be able to swim 25m in a lifejacket.

Extended Hours available 8:00am - 4:30pm
Costs - All costs are attached to paddler registration, however, we ask that competitive paddlers register for the weeks they will be attending summer camp for planning purposes.

U10 $1,233.50 ($33.50 + $1,200)
U12 $1,437.50 ($37.50 + $1,400)
U14 $1,443.50 ($43.50 + $1,400)
U16 $1,649.50 ($49.50 + $1,600)
ADDITIONAL REGATTA FEES WILL APPLY ~200/Season for U12/U14
U16 regatta fees may vary depending on events attended
**Parents of competitive paddlers are required to volunteer at regatta's throughout the season.
